Applications of Pressure Gauge

  • pressure gauge is an instrument used to measure the amount of pressure exerted by air, water, chemicals or similar gases.
  • It is a mechanical device that translates the force of a pneumatic system into a visual dial indicator calibrated to represent the pressure.
  • pressure gauges can be installed on process lines to indicate the pressure inside the pipe or on equipment such as compressors.
  • They are simple to install, are robust, and require little to no maintenance to properly and quickly know air pressure within a system.
  • Air is a compressible media. The pressure exerted by air in a closed system is inversely proportional to the volume of the air. If the system is open, the air pressure will be equal to atmospheric pressure.
  • Pressurized air is therefore achieved by the reduction of the volume of the air. This pressurized air finds multiple applications in domestic processes such as inflating balloons, bicycles, car tires, etc.
  • Pressurized air is also used in commercial and industrial processes for actuating valves in pneumatic systems, robotics, flight control, etc.
  • Pressure gauges are used to measure the pressure of liquids, vapors, solids, and gases.

They are used to measure medium to very high pressures.

  • For measuring high pressures e.g. in steam boilers, compressors
  • For measuring pressures in vehicles tube tire.
  • It is used for the inspection of air brakes on trucks.
  • Pressure gauges are used in chemical, petrochemical, sanitary, pharmaceutical, and process industries.
  • Pressure gauges are used in HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, food, and beverage industries.
  • They are also used in eliminating the potential leak paths.

Pressure gauges are used in various sectors in different applications.
